Surrey Garden

This country house had a developer’s garden with poorly built stone retaining walls, which had caused a flooding problem, a huge gravel area and no link with the views.  Without changing the walls, except for some cantilevered steps for access, substantial drainage was put in place, steps to access the various levels, a pergola for entertaining and gardens were created to make the most of the views and the gravel area became a formal garden.
